I moved to South Carolina from the tundra of Western New York in 2007 and started a graphic design business in 2008. I began learning macramé in 2020 when I found myself suddenly without much work and helping my ten year old with virtual school. Among the uncertainty and fear that we all felt that year, this hobby helped quiet my brain and gave me something meaningful and tangible to focus on throughout my day.
I find something calming about the repetition of knot work. The preparation of measuring, counting, cutting and then tying the cord quiets and resets my anxiety brain and helps me focus on the rest of my life. Not to mention the cool, natural vibes these pieces bring to a space.
My hope is that my pieces will not only hold some plants and make your home prettier, but that they will some how bring you a little bit of the peace that I find when I create these pieces.
